The Port Administration of Vallarta, SETUJAL (Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco) and Fideicomiso de Turismo (Tourism Trust Fund) joined their interest to actively support the City Hall of Puerto Vallarta on security reinforcement for the destination, on the past July 7th they convoked taxi drivers, tour guides and tour operators of the maritime terminal to an awareness meeting that took place inside the port facilities.

The Puerto Vallarta Port Authority, as one of its priority objectives, obtained its Management and Environmental Quality Systems certification according to ISO 9001:2008 (NMX-CC-9001-IMNC-2008) and ISO 14001:2004 (NMX -SAA-14001-IMNC-2004).

An information stand was placed close to ship gangway this September the 1st, 2nd and 3rd to the arrival of the cruises Carnival Splendor, Mariner of the Seas and Ocean Dream, with the purpose of offering orientation to passengers going to Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, Sayulita or other sites of Nayarit State.

The Cruise’s Local Committee was reactivated in the conference room of this Port Authority (API).

The marina “Los Peines” docks were built in 1969. After 41 years of use, its useful life is exhausted and therefore their replacement was considered in advance, the replacement works are listed on the National Development Plan and naturally in the APIVAL 2010 Annual Work Program.

Administración Portuaria Integral Puerto Vallarta, committed to environmental conservation participated with the Port Authority past August 24 on the working meeting to discuss issues related to the management of waste water generated by tourist boats, operating daily on the marine terminal, to Bahía de Banderas beaches.

API vallarta and the FCCA Cruise Association will offer soon two free workshops for at least 300 service providers operating in the port. The speaker will be vice chairman of the FCCA.

With the Ocean Dream cruise arrival from line Pullmantur shipping, API Vallarta operates as source and destination port; as domestic tourists can board and alight either at the port of Acapulco on Sunday and Puerto Vallarta on Friday and begin this way their tour by Mexican Pacific coasts.

September 22nd, 2010 was an important day for the port of Vallarta and the community in general, since we received simultaneously two of the biggest cruise ships that have ever arrived to this port.

November 13th and 14th. This annual event was celebrated in the port facilities organized by the Vallarta Volks Club

November 12th. The Maritime Day was celebrated in Puerto Vallarta; this date was made official by agreement of the General Assembly of the OMI in November 1977.

This event took place in Puerto Vallarta through a series of meeting tables with the theme: “Connectivity and Management for the Port Competitiveness”; which was organized by ATOP (Port terminals and operator Association).

On the past December 30th 2010, API Vallarta and the rest of the port community were part of the magnificent experience that is witnessing the arrival of four cruises at the port of Vallarta.
